I have a MSI K8m neo-v motherboard and I wish to upgrade the ram, I was told I could not use High density ram because my motherboard is not compatible?

Karan is telling you what your mobo does support, high density RAM just means it has chips on both sides of the DIMM
I am aware of the information which Karen has given me.
But could you tell me how you know my motherboard will take High Density Memory and not Low Density memory.

who reads the manual these days, ha you have to put it all together then when everything is ablaze, only then you get the manual out and see where it all went wrong, and then on the cover it says READ MANUAL FIRST!

It supports both high and low.
Its not as simple as that because you need to get ram with suitable latency and frequency (speed)
Download this little program… its free.

Install it and run the program.
On the left there are some icons. One has an arrow pointing to a pc, its in the middle. It says mainboard if you hang the mouse cursor over it.
Click on that then on the right click on Physical Memory. How much RAM does it say you have in the description tab?

I contacted MSI and they said my motherboard does not accept high density memory, Fine but I need to buy therefore low density memory.
How do I know if a certain memory is compatible with my motherboard and I mean if I looked up one on ebay how would I know its compatible?
From the earlier manual it was apparent that your motherboard did support High density, i dont understand why it wont be supported, afterall all it is is chips on both side as said earlier.
High density ram is more than double sided sticks. It depends on the configuration of the chips on the stick too.
Im too pissed and tired to explain now.
