USB 2 and 1.1 compatability

I have a fairly ancient Gateway computer with 2 off USB 1.1 ports also a ZIP 100 drive
I intend to get some new gear and am planning the best way to transfer data to the new computer when I get it.
I have seen some solid state USB 2 compatible memories
Will they load from my existing USB 1.1 ports?
Any better ideas to transfer data much appreciated

I think it is compatible but Usb 2 is faster. Firewire is even faster than both of these.

USB2.0 devices will be compatible with USB1.1. But they will only work at 1.1 speed (12mb burst). But with USB2.0 doing 480Mb sec its faster than firewire.
