Hi, I was looking on the net and I found a website that sells a USB Freeview adapter: http://www.blankdiscshop.co.uk/acatalog/pci.html Its this one on the page, priced £49.99: {HA 4169} Freecom Freeview USB Stick (Awaiting Stock)
Can someone please tell me if this is worth it, ie do you have it and is it good value for money? Also, is there anyway I can operate this with a Remote Control?
If I was to buy this would I not have to buy a TV PCI adapter.
I don’t have it, but I think it would be ok for using with laptops as its quite portable. You will be able to operate it with a remote control. It does the same job as a normal internal PCI TV card.
USB freeview adapters usually come with aerials…a freeview box needs a wideband aerial (able to recieve digital signals) to work properly, I think a freeview box with a decent aerial would be better than a USB freeview adapter, unless the USB adapter relies on an aerial attached to your house then I think they would both be even, although the freeview box you have the option of having it connected to your tv…
i found that you dont need an outside ariel for freeview boxes a couple of months ago, i got this small inside ariel, had a booster on it, and i could pick up freeview signals perfectly, now i am wired to the outside ariel, and for some reaosn, i get no signal at all.
ah, the only problem with my indoor ariel is that, my dad knocked it off the tv and it snapped, and did not ever get good signal again, then i bent it all
