Using a used hard drive as a back up

I recently cloned my old maxtor 60gb hd to a seagate 320gb SATA II. I now only have one hd connected to my comp, which is my seagate, and I want to use my old hd as a back up. I will be buying an external hard drive enclosure kit, and I wanted to know whether to set my old hd as a “Slave” or as a “Cable Select”???

set it to master (i dont even think you need to set it to anything if you’re gonna use it with an enclosure).

SATA drives usually don´t have a master / slave jumper block, however some drives do have them, if you have a jumper block, just set drive to master (as there is only 1 drive per cable)
