Alright, this happened last week but it’s only now I’ve been able to calm down long enough to type it out.

I put in an application to work at Game (Electronics Boutique for the US), and got an interview because the deputy manager needed positions filled quickly.

I go through with the interview and thought it went well, he tells me he’ll call me on Thursday to let me know. I get no phone call on Thursday, so I go into the store and ask, he wasn’t in but the guy there said he’d let the manager know I asked.

Next day I get home from work to be told someone called me but didn’t leave a name, so I found the number and called it back, lo and behold it was Game, they offered me the job! I accepted and started on Monday. I’ve been dreaming of working here since I was 15! Now I’m in my dream job and I love it.

Just thought I’d share that with all of you. :smiley:

Nice, yeah i really wanna work in a computer/game shop, although the computer shop in my town centre is a rip-off and i refuse to work there out of principals, i know enough to work there but dont want to…
Game stores are excellent, sure you’ll like it, i want to work there but they said you have to be 18…well 6 days to wait until i can apply! w00t!

I love my job, and I took more money today than anyone in store, beat the manager!

I love the job. The benefits are:

4 weeks PAID holiday per year, and that’s paid as if I had worked that week, not at a lower rate.
30% discount on games.
25% discount on pre-owned games.
25% discount on peripherals (control pads, etc.)
10% discount on hardware (consoles and handhelds)
50% discount on a new PC provided I can prove it’s for work-related purposes.
Knowledge of when most games come out before most places do.
The opportunity to play a game BEFORE it’s released, like 2 days before the release date.

Well done on getting the job but i think you need to dream a bit more. Working in a game shop would be great for me too but its not really a dream, creating games now thats what i wanna do.

Yea but its not bad for 19. I’d work in a game shop although I’d only work to pay any college fees etc but it would still be better unemployment, and dare i say… PC World…

I’ve dreamed about so many things in future, this is the only thing I’m qualified to do that fits my dreams, everything else requires an education that is above mine, something which I have neither the money nor the time to do.
