Warning! System reset due to over-clock setting

Um so yes that comes up in the boot up sequence before windows loads and i dont know exactly what it means, what can i do to fix this?

“Warning! System had reset due to over-clock setting, please re-enter cpu settings in the cmos setup and rememer to save before quit!”

It means you set the speed too high and need to step back a bit for the system to work.

i dont know how to set the speed? i havent changed any speeds or anything

I had a similar message recently, in the end I had to reset my CMOS and that cleared it.

What cpu do you have ?

biostar m7vig400 with a sempron 2800. That’s the message i get whenever i try to use the vga onboard while having the agp video card plugged in and when i take it out and boot up the computer it says that…have no idea why

Just a guess, but I believe the on-board video uses the AGP bus. With AGP, you can’t share it between two video cards. I bet if you go into BIOS and disable the on-board video, you’ll be alright.
