weird issue - motherboard freezing on it's display screen

hello everyone!

my pc runs a lan party sli-dr motherboard. ive had it for a couple of years and it has done me well. when i boot, it first goes to a generic display image that the motherboard produces (an image of the motherboard’s logo), then it boots bios, then boots the os. all of a sudden, the motherboard gets stuck on that motherboard image and never seems to go into the bios. has this ever happened to anyone?

my thoughts on what could be happening:

  1. the motherboard is never loading my bios during the boot because it cant find or get to them. i don’t know why this would be happening or how to fix it.

  2. the motherboard is never loading my bios because they are messed up, broken, etc. again, i dont know why this would be happening or how to fix it.

any help would be greatly appreciated!!!

Have you tried clearing the CMOS? (there will be a jumper or small push button near the CMOS battery that does it, look in your manual!)

I will try that… I am at home for a month and left my manual in storage :frowning:

It seems like that only happens when I go away :frowning:

You can clear the CMOS by removing the battery on the motherboard for a few seconds.
