OK i know it seems trivial but, i would like to know what does GT means like in the evga geforce 6800 GT , i bought this card and send to RMA 3 times and EVGA keeps sending me trash.
I can’t find the card ( a new one) anywhere else, i bet they recall the trash
GT (in racing) stands for Grand Tour (i think), a graphics card referd to as GT means its been “tunned” for better performance, ie the 6800 GT is an improved (tuned) version of the 6800.
well i dont know if its the same as cars but [COLOR=“Red”]GTI stands for [COLOR=“Red”]Grand [COLOR=“Red”]Tourinng [COLOR=“Red”]Injection similarly [COLOR=“Red”]GL = [COLOR=“Red”]Greater [COLOR=“Red”]Luxe, [COLOR=“Red”]DL = used to mean [COLOR=“Red”]De[COLOR=“Red”]Luxe but today it probably = [COLOR=“Red”]Diesel [COLOR=“Red”]Luxe
AFAIK, the GT/GTX labeling is just a way to differentiate the variants of the same GPU. There’s the 6800, 6800GT, and the 6800 Ultra, in order from slowest to fastest…and price difference.
