I’ve just noticed that the rep button next to everyone’s profile is gone. I can’t view my reps also!

The whole idea was to get people to use them, but that system just didn’t seem to get the effect we wanted.
Hard to get any sort of appreciation system though isnt it?
What are you thinking of using as a replacement?
I liked the shop idea, not sure if anyone else did, but the idea of buying stuff to modify text/names etc etc really appealed to me.

Its simple, if you find a post helpful you click on a button. Under the userinfo you can see how many useful posts a member has made.
Yea its simpler than the reps and rep power thing, which i never really understood.
It looks a little silly for you guys to have 1000+ posts and 0 or 1 helpful posts…maybe you should let the guys offer up what they feel is a reasonable number of helpful/useful posts they made and leave it others to question or suggest a more appropriate number…

good points! got me thinking about the points system a bit more.
hmmm, I just realised its not useful posts but rather number of “times he/she has been helpful”. So a user can be helpful to 20 members is one post.
I don’t mind. Thus I begin, again…

Do you think it would be possible to set up a system where like the top ten most helpful people are displayed on a thread/pop up window etc, thats live updating?
Sounds complicated just thinking about it, so the code would be an absolute biatch, but its probably possible?!
Would take quite a bit of work to me. A new page could be created for the job but I’m sure Sniper’s busy.
Sweet idea! Not that I’ve been helpfull apparently but it should encourage a little friendly competition of “Ah, unanswered thread! I’ll answer it first so I can get the most helpful posts!” I thought I could do that with a thead about vga cards but ninja and then BB beat me to it.
