As I’m going to build my first PC, my wifes work would like to buy my old Packard Bell IMedia 1701.
This is the spec:

try and get as much out of them as possible… they probably arent going to know any different when it comes to spec.
Start at about 500 
I would not spend more than £400 on it. I am being generous!

Wow!!! I was thinking more like £150 to 200. A new HP with a Intel P4 640, 200 Gig SATA, DVD RW, 512 Ram & 128 ATI Express 200 is £399.95

What I’d do is find the price (roughly) of the individual parts (or equivalent if you can’t price the part) and take 10-15% off that total.
I was thinking of about 200 quid. Then again what something is worth depends on how much someone is willing to pay for it.
Music festival couple of years ago i ran out of cigs and paid £10 quid for a pack.

I’d day £200 max, no more. Without the LCD somewhere around £120.
