Had two 160 GB Hard drives running fine for past year - Yesterday re-formatted Primary Disc and re-loaded Windows XP.
Although Secondary is Visible in Bios, Windows doesn’t recognise it - drive contains about 50GB of various files (Fat 32)
Can anyone help me retrieve these files??

did you look into device manager?
You may need to initialise the disk:
1)Right-click ‘My Computer’ and select ‘Manage’. The will bring up the ‘Computer Management’ Console.
-
Down the right hand side you will see ‘Disk Management’. Click on it to bring up the control applet.
-
Look towards the bottom of the window. You should see all of your hard drive and CD-ROM devices listed.
Can you see your slave device?
I can see my slave device but it says “unallocated”
I’ve managed to recover the files using “R-Studio” but i still want the drive active
Go into Disk Management and find your slave device. Right click it and select ‘initiate’. A wizard will commence.
Many Thanks Megamaced - It worked a treat !!!
