Is it possible for a wireless network to go down if there is too much activity going on?
Everytime my brother and I play an online game on our PC’s, shortly after the connection is lost, and remains that way for around an hour.
At first I thought there was some kinda problem with the settings, but I checked em and they seem ok.
If only one of us game, the network is fine as far as I can tell.
I know wireless is prone to failing, but this is a pain in the arse :rolleyes:

Have you tried downloading on both PCs to see if that causes it to go down too?
What type of wireless network do you have? It’s not Hughes Satellite, is it?
I’m guessing you mean what router I have?
I have a Netgear Firewall Router and a Netgear Modem, its a hell of a setup, I was intending to go for an all in one, but some guy we knew was selling up his shop so we got em dirt cheap.
Uh, I’m on Wanadoo 1Meg internet…and some crappy X-Micro wireless card..

It sounds like your ISP might have a FAP – ‘Fair Access Policy’. If you exceed your allotted bandwidth per hour, you get throttled down to lower bandwidth or even banned for an hour.
That sounds plausible…

Usually in the (very) fine print. I got stuck with a FAP and a one-year contract with Hughes, that’s why I asked about them earlier. FAP = “grab your ankles, you’re not going to enjoy this at all”
