well what happened was…lol the other day i happened to stumble across a “longhorn transformation pack” which would change the appearence of your computer to match or be similar to the new windows vista. well before i ran it i created a system restore just incase it goes wrong so yesterday and set it all up but today is a different story.
when i went to start it up it got past the post and gace me an error say along the lines of “cant find this file … and cant start up the user interface” which is a pain because i cant even restore my system. swo i tryed the “last known configuration” and “safe mode” start up and it came up with the same error both times.
in the end i decided to place the hard drive into my other win XP comp to extract all my personnal data, format the disc and re-install win XP etc. but when i go into the folder it says i cant access it. im guessing that it is because i had a user password so after this long story does anyone know how to gain access to these files? i have been told that there is a .txt file which if you change the 1 to as 0 or vice versa it enable or disable the password if so does anyone know which file it is??
thanks peanut!!

Boot from the original Windows XP CD and select the ‘repair option’.
Try System Restore~!
