hey guys just a quick question, when i click shut down on windows, it goes to the page where it says “windows is shutting down” and then seems to freeze. any ideas as to what could be causing this?
Something isnt shutting down very fast thats all. It could be anything on your pc.
We have the same problem when logging out/ shutting down. It takes forever to “save settings” It turned put to be the DCC. When I delete the connection from the pc it shuts down fast!
what could cause random freezes?
you probably need to do a format & reinstall
BTW: with the shutdown thing, try this[ot]i only did a quick search of the net for that, maybe there are better ones[/ot]
Edit: i think disabling fast shutdown may fix it, but i can’t remember how you disable it

Look in your event viewer nd look at all the latest errors, that might give us some help detecting the culprit…

Try google… I doubt anyone here knows event ids off by heart!
A corrupted file in the C:\Windows\Prefetch folder might be causing this issue. Go to c:/windows/prefetch, delete all files in there, this will help speed up your booting time aswell, see if this helps.
wait but if i delete all the files in prefetch, could that screw up my whole system?
