I want to play games with the highest graphical settings. I have 1 gig of dual channel RAM, but if I add another 512Mb stick, that will disable the dual channel, and I'll have 3 *512mb sticks using single channel. Is it better to keep 1 gb working on dual, or 1.5 on single?

Well if you want to play games on the highest graphical settings (without lag or freezing) you'll need a very good Video Card and CPU with some decent RAM, what are your current system specs?

1 Gb RAM dual channel or 1.5 Gb single channel

I would tend to say 1.5GB since games like BF2 benefit from more RAM.

    AMD 64 3200+ Venice
    1 gig Corsair DDR 400
    X800XL

I want to play BF2 on high-ultra high, without stuttering. I don't know if the X800XL is good enough for ultra-high settings though.

Hmm, then you may benefit from having more RAM, go for the 1.5GB over the 1GB Dual Channel
