Hiya, when I put a Program/ games cd in the drive i get a message that says in a box: 16 bit windows subsystem. The system file is not suitable for running ms-dos and microsoft windows applications. Choose close to terminate the application. It won't let me open any cd's. I haven't changed any settings so I'm really not sure what has happened. Any help is appreciated. Thanks...
have you recently upgraded anything hardware/software i assume your using XP SP2 did the program run before
Seems to be an epidemic lately.... This can be caused by a trojan/virus/worm. Get rid of the trojan/virus/worm. Update your antivirus software and run a full system scan.
Right click the executable on the CD and select properties. Then select the compatibility tab. Tick the box 'Run this program in Windows Compatibility Mode' and click the drop down box. Then choose which Windows version you want to emulate.
Yes, xp home, sp2. No rescent upgrades. all worked ok begore, must be virus/trojan or whatever. will get rid and try again . Thanks for all your help..
Well, I tried spybot, spysweeper, norton, microsoft defender, and found a load of junk, removed it and still cd doesnt work. I can explore but still cant open install folder.
