Hi! This is another one of those 'enough power?' questions...

I have my com setup as follows:
    Antec SP 2.0 350W
    AMD athlon 64 3500 venice
    Asus A8N-SLI
    1Gb Corsair XMS3200XLPT (twin sticks 512)
Elsa 6600GT (not the PH version)
    1 x 80Gb Seagate Barracuda 7200rpm
    1 x Sony DVDR/RW
    1 x FDD
    1 x 80mm exhaust chassis fan

    thinking of adding:
+1 x Elsa 6600GT (not the PH version)
    +1 x 80mm exhaust chassis fan
    +1 x 120mm intake chassis fan

    which works out to:
    Antec SP 2.0 350W
    AMD athlon 64 3500 venice
    Asus A8N-SLI
    1Gb Corsair XMS3200XLPT (twin sticks 512)
2 x Elsa 6600GT (not the PH version)
    1 x 80Gb Seagate Barracuda 7200rpm
    1 x Sony DVDR/RW
    1 x FDD
    2 x 80mm exhaust chassis fan
    1 x 120mm intake chassis fan

I used extreme PSU calc and the total load comes up to 285W. (the site says that the calculations are based on the power usage of the components under FULL load, which they say is seldom ever the case). Furthermore, the Asus board manual has certified that 350W can power the above SLI setup.

Now, i'm fairly confident that the Antec would be able to take the load, but i've seen recommendations that SLI configs should be run on a 500W PSU(min 450W). I kinda feel that is overkill, but at the same time, i don't wanna damage any components due to insufficient power.

Any advice? I know it wouldn't hurt to get more power, but i'm on a tight budget. Don't wanna spend the extra cash if there isn't really a need to. Glad to have any opinions/advice/examples/experiences from u guys.

    Thanks

it might be alright, although its not all about Watts, what are the amps your power supply can provide?
You'd need something that would supply about 30-35 amps with a setup like that i'm thinking...

also antecs are a good PSU company and their PSU's are some of the best...you might be alright, but still let us know the ratings of your power supply
Mine is a TAGAN TG480-U01 PSU (480Watt), ratings are:
    +3.3V 28A
    +5.0V 48A
    +12V 28A
    -12V 1A
    -5.0V 0.8A
    +5VSB 2.5A
Its a good PSU and has the connectors for PCI, you could look into one of those, but there are more out there if you do need a new one.
My PSU is more than enough for my system, i dont need half the connectors...i bought it because of the silent running and big amps...

I think you'll be alright, I trust Antec, their amps aren't always the highest but the GT's aren't too demanding. Personally I would have suggested a single 6800GT in the first place but performance and price is similar either way.

K, i've checked and the ratings are as follows...

    +5V 21A
    +12V1 10A
    +12V2 15A
    +3.3V 22A
    -12V 0.3A
    +5Vsb 2.0A

so how would that work out?

that looks alright, plus its an Antec PSU, Antec PSU's are excellent and it should hold up well, the thing with a quality PSU is it gives out what it says it does, so your's will give out 350W whereas a cheap generic wont give out that much power...ever.
Yours should hold up fine, if you do have any problems then come back and we'll see if we can sort them out/find an alternative.
