This must look rather ironic as I've told pretty much everyone who inquired that 2 gigs wasn't worth it but I've got the potential to come across more money than I had suspected before so I may look into getting 2gig of ram...if you all think it would be worth my while. I realize BF2 is the only game that could really use 2gigs at the moment and I wouldn't really bother with that as the demo was boring but Unreal 3 would probably appreciate it and isn't there a decent performace gain with lots of apps running and widows open etc? If you think it's worth the extra hundred that's cool as I found some OCz stuff with good latency, though it's PC3200 which isn't so super.
If you don't think I should bother I'll just get this:

Pretty crazy huh? 2-2-2-5 @ DDR500 sounds great.

I think it'll be worth it, considering all the games coming out these days and in the future just suck the life out of our computers!
    F.E.A.R is a prime example!

Yea 2GB will be useful in more games sooner or later, and in the meantime it would help in other apps too.

F.E.A.R. demo runs at medium here with occasional frame rate drops.

    I'd just get 2 gigs :)

dunno how right this is but i heard WinXP has some serious issues when you try using anything more than 1gb. might be true because me and my brother tried wackin our RAM together, he had a gig and i had 512mb and the computer did nothing but crash. i know the slightest difference in RAM can cause major issues so i ont know whether it was something to do with windows or what. i just got a gig of kingston hyper x for £117 so i'd go with the gig of good stuff

Quite honestly, I'd personally stick with 1GB of a little higher quality vs. the quantity. 512MB-1GB is about the range where you're going to get your money's worth right now. If you need 2GB, you can upgrade later.

I'm a little torn, but I still think that the extra gig will give me amazing performance.
LStat, I imagine that was purly motherboard related. I'm planning on getting the ASUS AV8 SLI Deluxe and pretty much every review of that OCz 2GB hasn't really had any probs. Though I've gotta admit 1.5 latency, that I could easily reduce to 1 would be pretty crazy. On the stuff I have posted above as well: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produ...N82E16820144342
