Just purchased a season pass for '24' season 8 on iTunes (which is being broadcasted every week since January on FOX). Watched the 1st episode and I'm really excited. Especially the continuous action is impressive. Anyone else watching it? edit: To avoid spoilers, please don't discuss the actual contents of the storyline
DONT say another word!!!! First episode starts on 24 Jan in the UK! I am a massive fan.... please, please no spoilers!!!!!
Haha, we just have a broader taste in TV.... :chk: The world is at the brink, one man with ALL odds stacked against him WILL save the day! How far will he go? What principles will he shed? What humane instinct will he ignore in order to save the greater good? What is there not to like, I ask you? Ha? Pure, James Bond like escapism..... Isn't it why most gamers play?
I thought it was more like "Pure FOX propaganda on how security should outweigh freedom or morality", but perhaps I'm reading too much into it? And perhaps I should have posted this in the war zone instead of hijacking your thread, my apologies. :O
Perhaps... I do not tend to take these sort of shows too seriously. Just enjoy the action. 45 minutes of fluffy entertainment... Seriously no need.... this is a welcomed interruption... nice to see you crawling the forums again... To the point at hand, 24 was a new concept in TV. The split screens, the shady morals, the brown LA tint, the idea of playing an hour as it would have happened (one episode=one hour). The first season was by far the better one. I watched the other six out of inertia, more or less.... and for Elisha Cuthbert. Hot lady, what can I say....
The only thing that I hate about 24 (when it's broadcasted on TV) are the commercials at the most inconvenient time during the series. That's pure commercialism. But TV series in the US are always exaggerated, either it's action with numerous secret agencies that have the power to monitor every person in the world, or it's some medical series starring a crippled drug-addicted character who solves medical issues in the most awkward way possible. But that's called fiction. If you need reality, it's better to just watch FOX News or something similar
I watched the first three or fours days on DVD from friends who bought the box set. So, I did not have to endure commercials.... But I know what you mean... That's funny... I like that.... [ot]I do not watch Fox. Did not like their style. I tend to watch Sky or BBC[/ot]
UK always start the season with a double bill. So far I am very happy with the new day..... now I have to wait untill next week.... :x: Hot new blond as well!!!! Doesn't CTU look slick?
