You'll have that. It'll keep trying to upload the WU every so often until it can upload it. Meanwhile, it'll work on a new WU.
I'm on the stats page but still havn't sent ht WU yet. It keeps on saying 'coulld not connect to work server'. Getting the console client when it does finish.
WU=Work Units. Actually, that should be points. My bad...why didn't I realize it earlier? It's a measure of data that's been processed through the Folding @ Home distributed computing project. It's a totally volunteer thing to do. Basically, you download and install the distributed computing software and it runs in the background, using CPU cycles you don't. F@H in particular is an ongoing project to help find cures for cancer and other such diseases. People can go solo, but mostly join a team, like ours. Usually, they're members of other techie forums, like [H]ard|OCP and 2CPU (which, ATM, are out of our league).
Ow thats cool can i help out with it. I have a person with cancer in the family and want to find something to do
Check the sticky at the top of this forum. It's got all the links, particularly where to download the software.
Yup. I saw that, addis. :good: Took awhile, but it's finally up there. We're up to 9 members (ProcalX has 2 different entries) right now.
Halfway through my next WU now, things seem to be speeding up. Should be done by Thursday ebcause i can't leave my PC on while I'm at school.
