32 bit os and 4gb ram

    Hi, just wondering if a 32 bit operating system (im running vista home premium) can support 4gb ram.

    Yeah i believe it could. I think you should check, just incase, if the ram is "VISTA READY" as they call it these days. Other than that you shouldnt run into any problems.

    The 32-bit version of XP and Vista support a maximum of 4 GB, where 3 - 3.5 GB can be used. To support more RAM, you'll need the 64-bit version. I've tested this myself on a machine with 4 GB of RAM. It's a limitation in the 32-bit products of Microsoft (except the server editions). Do mind that you can only use the 64-bit version of Vista with Athlon XP and Intel Core 2 Duo CPUs.

    Athlon XPs? No, I think you mean Sempron 64's, Athlon 64's and above etc.
