7.1 set up

    hey guys first post so hope you are all alright, neways, my post....

    i got a pc on order with a 7.1 sound card, im going to get a 7.1 surround sound speaker setup, probly by creative if i can get them cheap enough.... with this 7.1 sound card am i able to plug the speakers into the sub then straight into the back of the pc or do i need a decoder..... may sound silly but i couldnt make sense of it... and this is the first sound card ive had above minimal standards ssooo any help is appreciated!

    Well, if you have a 7.1 soundcard, and 7.1 speakers, then from the back of the sub, cables will run from there and connect into the sound card.

    Personly I would get a 5.1 setup, not much benefit of 7.1, 5.1 speakers work fine on 7.1 soundcards, I am using the Logitech Z5500's with a creative X-Fi which is 7.1.

    aye, cheers pal, i mean im only using it for certain amounsts of gaming and music really ...... i suppose theres going to be a big price difference aswell. cheers pal! aslong as i know the setup is straight foward :D
