7800 line limited by the driver!? HA HA!

Unite against nVidia, they are the evil empire. Well, anyways, nVidia does some good stuff but I always knew there was something suspicious afoot . It sounds to me like that was intentional, it would be pretty hard to have it do that by mistake. Just protection for the card against stupid people, maybe not.

It's a little odd but I'm just assuming it's becuase it's a new chipset and will require new drivers that aren't optimized yet.

Actually, the same kind of issue has happened to ATI in the past, as well as 3DFX, and probably other companies. Besides, the features that are currently disabled in-driver are probably not implemented in any current games anyway. I'm not an NVidia fan boy, but it's important to keep things in context.

As long as its not a hard wired or preprogrammed error than its ok, software can be improved, once you buy a card theres nothing you can do to seriously modify its workings.

The thing is, that is only in extreme cooling. Most OCers don't have extreme cooling. Really really high end water and phase change are the only things affected.
