I'm wondering at what temperature range a 7900 GT should be running at. Right now, with no games or anything running, nVidia MonitorView, (temperature monitor), tells me that the GPU is running at 53*C. I think that's pretty hot for just surfing the web...

My 6600GT (overclocked, btw) is 66*C, but I just got done playing some games.
I don't know what the defaults say for you as the max, but for me its 145*C. My guess is the GPU's can take a lot more heat abuse than CPU's can. Also, I don't know how accurate these temperature readings are, so you do want to take them with a grain of salt. The key is if your system is stable or not. If it is, don't worry.

    I think thats fine...

"Idle temp 48, load temp 68. Temps are kept relatively cool by the small fan."

Ok. Sounds good. I just played a good hour of CS:S, and so far the GPU temp as only reached 58°C.
