Hi all, just last night, I upgraded my broadband from 2 to 8 meg. My thought is, that my modem will be bottlenecking the 8 meg as when I dial to my ISP, it says "connection at 2.2MBPS" I think that means the speed of the connection from the modem to my PC, not the actualy net speed. Anyway, on the box of my modem, it says under specification: "ITU-T G.992.1 (G.DMT): / ANSI T1.413 Issue 2 downstream 8Mbps, upstream 1Mbps"
and below that it says:
"ITU-T G.992.2 (G.Lite): downstream 1.5Mbps, upstream 512Kbps"
The modem is a "Mentor ADSL USB Modem" (USB 1.0 and 1.1 compliant)
The ISP contacted me saying it may take up to a week for my speed to change, anyway, I want to know how to enable this full rate thing so I can get 8Mbps (unless I am just plain wrong about the speed it comes up with)
Suggestions much appreciated :D thanks
