Hello, this is my first post. I have a refurbed ATI branded 9800 pro AIW I have had since January. The card has beeen a champ. When I got the card, I only recieved the card, no cables, software,etc.. I just recently bought a sound cable so I can start using the TV feature of the card. The problem I have is that the software for the tuner won't install. I downloaded the most recent AIW drivers from ATI in the bundle download(broadband) and the drivers for the AIW components installed OK(tv crossbar,etc....) according to the installer. During the install, I did not get any messages that there were any failures, but when it is completed, I don't have the TV toolbar anywhere on the desktop or any software in the program files. Shortly after I bought the card, I was able to get the TV to work with no sound(since I had no cable at the time) so the tuner did work at one time. I uninstalled all the ATI drivers and also used Driver cleaner to uninstall all ATI drivers before I installed the latest Catalyst. I also reinstalled the GART drivers on my Nforce 2 board. My device manager shows no problems on any hardware. As I said, no failed messages came up during installation, but while I was digging around in the ATI support file on my C drive, I found a notepad that indicated failures due to hardware not being found. Currently, I am running Windows XP SP2 on a Chaintech 7NJL6 Nforce2 motherboard. When I had the tuner working in the spring I had a Biostar M7NCD Ultra motherboard at the time.(NForce2 board as well) I am stumped. Did my tuner on my card just die for no reason? Does this crappy Chaintech board(which has 0 temp sensors by the way) not like watchng TV? Did ATI decide that they were going to get my $20 in order to watch TV by overcharging me to buy a copy of MMC from them? (I didn't need MMC before) Anyone have any ideas, or heard this problem before? Thanks for your time.
