99 99 99 99 message

    hello i have recently change my hard drive ova with another one to install a linux as my the computers cd rom drive doesnt work but after i swapped them back over after the installation when i turn the computer on i get a message displaying 99 99 99 99 99 99 etc. does anyone know how to solve this problem becasue at the moment i cant get back into windows thanks peanut

    Looks like the punctuation marks on your keyboard are broken, too; that's the longest sentence I've ever seen! ;) If I understand you correctly (and I'm not sure that I do), you've swapped CD drives with another system, installed some form of Linux, and swapped it back. When you tried to boot it (for the first time? Second time?), it failed to boot, dispalying a black screen with 99 99 99 99 99 99 (etc) across it. This probably means one of two things: either your RAM is bad, or your bootloader is corrupted. Test your memory with Memtest+ and get back to us.

    oh sorry about the grammer not very good at english (failed in gcse). well i tryed to get in to change the settings on the bootloader but as always i didnt know which button it was to press. So i have managed to format the hard drive so now i will re-install windows home. but does anyone know how to find out which button it is to gain access to the bootloader with out goin through them all? just incase it ever happens again :confused:
