When God finished making the plants, trees and water; why did he then decide static electricity was a good idea?

Was it because we could have fun zapping each other by rubbing our feet against the floor? ;)

If only he knew a device called a computer would be invented around 250,0000 years later (or there abouts...)

I've read about the dangers of static electricity and PC hardware, but always thought it was rare that you could actually break something this way. WRONG!!

A few months ago, i was taking my PC apart (as you do) and putting it back together. Only problem was it wouldn't turn on once everything was back in place! I later discovered my stick of Siemens RAM had given in to the static prowess!

Then, only last night, I was doing the same, except this time 3 STICKS OF RAM gave up the ghost. Thats 3 sticks of RAM!!! I'm sure my hair wasn't standing on end last time I checked!

Therefore, I am accusing Electro Static Discharge on counts of rape and murder to 4 RAM sticks. ;)

    !!!
RAM is the most susceptible component to ESD, I've always been a bit of a phobe about ESD, so touch all kinds of metal things when I'm dealing with hardware.
