And if so, how? The A8-3850 got 5467, considerably lower. The only difference with the 3870k is .1ghz and it's fully unlocked. passmark's CPU list Does it, perhaps, represent its potential when overclocked? Or worse, is passmark including its GPU power, essentially adding the two together to create a deceptive CPU score? If both are the case, then it would account for the +1567 gain over the 3850 in that the GPU on the 3850 was locked down harder than an i3. Or does this just look like a fluke? This looks too good to be true. I'd love to see some opinions/data on this, since everything inside me is screaming DEAL!! at the prospect of getting a near-2500k CPU for <$150. Currently on the drawing board for building a new desktop.
a little closer look into the website shows that passmark does indeed measure 2d and 3d rendering in their CPU benchmarking, meaning the A-Series APUs (and Intel's i-series to an extent, too) are ranked deceptively higher than they would get otherwise if analyzed as purely a CPU. which, by the way, means the 2500k's rating is a little inflated as well <0.0>
