Hello, I just need some of the more advanced persons advice on which of these two mobo's I should buy. From everything i've read they will both serve my purpose which is to take a 2.4 GHZ Pentium to a little more then 3 GHZ by OC'ng. I have 1GB Dual Channel Corsair PC3200 2.5 CAS DDR RAM and a well ventilated case. I need to upgrade my MOBO because the one I have currently is the ASUS P4B533 and doesn't accept dual channel Ram or much of anything new. I've read these are two very good boards for Oc'ng, especially the ABIT, so if someone wouldn't mind giving me some advice or suggestions on which one to choose, or if there's another board out there that much better for about the same price, I'd greatly appreciate it. Thanks in advance. Here are links to those two boards: ABIT: http://www.newegg.com/app/ViewProductDesc.asp?description=13-127-156&depa=0 ASUS: Asus P4P800SE http://www.newegg.com/app/ViewProductDesc.asp?description=13-131-484&depa=0
I've heard very good things about both boards, but personally i would go with the ABIT for overclocking over the Asus (although their won't be much difference). Once you get your very nice new system up and running, drop by the Distributed Computing Forum (at the very bottom of the forums) :good: You can set your computer to run a program that ONLY use's the power of your CPU thats NOT in use, so there are no negatives nor does it slow down your system .. Not only that but we run a team, and sites go head to head trying to beat each other for points - and it helps science and medicine which is always good
