    hi!

i had a few questions about samba to which I couldn't find answers anywhere.

*in smb.conf, what exactly do the [home] and [printers] sections do?
*for a basic file server in a workgroup, is there any other file to modify than the smb.conf?
*do i have to set samba to run upon system boot manually or is it done automatically when samba is installed?

    thanks!

What do you think they do? One shares user's home directory, the other shares printers respectively.
If you are doing domain services, you wil also have to configure winbind. Otherwise, smb.conf is it for file & print sharing.
This is actually a BSD question, not a Samba question. See here: Starting Services One of the great things about FreeBSD is it's documentation; it'd be silly not to make good use of it. :)
