Activating DMA in Bios

    I just installed a dvd writer and was wondering where to look in my bios for enabling DMA. Any help is appreciated. Thanks

    If you select your DVD writer in BIOS, you should be able to change the transfer mode there!

    In XP you can enable DMA by going to device manager>IDE ATA/ATAPI>right click channel to which the DVD writer is on>properties>advanced settings. Then if it says uder current settings PIO only change it to DMA if available.
