    Hi everyone!

Don't know if you remember me, but I used to be on these forums quite a lot back in the day (whenever that was). You might remember my friend Exfoliate.

Anyway, got a question for you. I've got an aging motherboard (Asus A8N-SLI Deluxe) and want to upgrade my CPU (it's currently an AMD Athlon 64 3500+). Supposedly, my mobo only supports the Athlon series from AMD, including FX and X2 Dual-Core. I want the best possible CPU I can get, as I really couldn't be bothered to get a new board yet.

So, any ideas? From what it looks like, the AMD Athlon X2 Dual-Core 4800+ looks like the best possible CPU in the Athlon series. Is this really the case? Thanks a lot!

Athlon FX-60 Dual Core @ 2.6Ghz would be the fastest, but expensive. Or you can get the AMD Opteron 185 Dual Core and overclock it.
