Hi I have Intel's DG33FB mobo running Core 2 Duo E750. Intel® Desktop Board DG33FB - Overview I need to replace defective RAM sticks, both Transcend 800s, both had a single address bad on Memtest 86+. [PDF]http://www.transcendusa.com/support/dlcenter/jetram/product/Pdf/JM800QLJ-1G_2345_s.pdf Figured the RAM had issues when good archives gave errors on file extraction. I had no other errors though; no BSODs or app crashes. I want to pick up Corsair XMS2 2GB DDR2 800MHz TWIN2X2048-6400 to replace the faulty sticks. [PDF] http://www.corsair.com/_datasheets/TWIN2X2048-6400.pdf The Transends are running at 1.8V and Corsairs are spec'd to run at 1.9V. Everything running at stock. My question is would my mobo support Corsair's pair and would there be other considerations. Another question, does transferring large archives between HDs while having the defective RAM cause corruption of said archives? I ask because the archives on an older system worked fine, but after the transfer, even the older system finds errors with the archives (tried extracting over my network). It's a pity though, because some of those archives are over a decade old and irreplaceable. I have surfed various threads, but could not get an answer. Great if someone can help. Thanks for the great work out here and God bless.
