DailyTech - AMD Resurrects K8 Architecture for 2008 Roadmap

Wow, i'm not really sure what AMD's focus is here, but the idea behind all this is to bring the company back to making a profit. I guess what do you do, when your latest core release is pretty much a flop.

Thats just talk from AMD trying to scare Intel. i think its going to be a very long time untill AMD have the upper hand on Intel. But it seems to me that Intel always release a better cpu then AMD and they also release it quicker so AMD need to be quick this time to have a lead in market.

actually, pretty much up until the Core 2 and such, AMD has made a better products, especially when they came out with the 64's. That and Intel went on and on about how the Pentium 4's were going to be the best thing ever, but then turned out to be something like what AMD's Phenom's are now. Then again, they only have a couple of the Phenom cores out, so the verdicts still out on that one. That said, Intel's 45nm Penryn cores are kinda already out, and will have a full line-up very early next year. AMD hasn't even gotten all of their 65nm cores out yet, i highly doubt AMD is doing this K8 thing to scare Intel, as i'm sure they could care less, especially rate now. To me, its seems like they are doing exactly what they say they are, trying to make money and just making low cost machines until they figure everything else out. Which they need to do very, very, quickly.
