Well so far it has done 3.5 ghz. And it was not stable at this speed. This processor is a good start from AMD, and I'm willing to bet there'll be more and bigger quads on the way from AMD.

Ya I seen that! Probably be an expensive processor when it comes out. In the mean time I anticipate larger Phenoms to arrive to our market. I think Intel boys should worry cause AMD can make one hell of a processor. I think the timing is bad for them theats all.
Also The AMD dual cell chipsets on the newer graphics cards are amazing as well. I read a review at the AMD site that their main goal is concentrating on integrated processing. That's another money maker for them as well. (IMO this may be why they can keep prices low for the average consumer.
All that said.......AMD is my choice in buisness/gaming computing! :chk:

If it was me i would still stick with Intel, yes more expensive but a much better then AMD for example the new Q9450 will eat any Phenom even a Black Edition for breakfast.

That's ok. The black edition is compared to the q6600. This Oc's right up to a QX6700. In fact the black AMD actually has batter memory latencies than the QX6700. But with for cores you really only need these things at 1.8 ghz wheather it's intel or not.

Now as far as a tweekable processor goes....THe intel's may not have the options like the newest phenom. I can change everything even the speed of the on die cache. I dont know intel very well but I don't think you can fine tune them as well as theQ9850 black.
There's stuff I can adjust that I've never seen before in any processor. Even this DDR2 memory I'm still learning about. The options givin to us for OC has come a long way. I remember using jumpers on the mobo's to get over clock in like socket seven and some A sockets as well.

Nah you can't fine tune Intel chips like you can with AMD ones but is this only for the Black Edition chips???????

I'm not sure. I waited to by the Revision 3 phenom because of the TLB bug. I would imagine that the earlier phenoms had less options. Wouldn't know really.
I do know that FX versions of AMD are unlocked totally. I still have my FX-55.
I beat on that processor harder than any other and it's still alive. I've even done T.E.C. cooling on that one. Now my P4 was a joke. 478 SOCKET was not worth the money at the time.
