Hey guys, just recently, I've considered upgrading my computer to a newer graphics card (the 512mb 8800GTS)
One part of computer building that gets confusing (for me at least) is the power supply.
I really don't want to order online but I know I need a new power supply. The one I currently use is Termaltake TR2-430W. I highly doubt that 430W is enough to power a graphics card of that caliber. Now, I know watts isn't everything on a power supply, but you think you determine if the power supply (link below) is sufficient enough for my system? I currently use:
CPU: Intel Pentium D 820 (2.8GHz) Dual Core
Motherboard: Asus P5L-VM 1394
Memory: 2048 MBytes Dual Channel DDR2
Hard Drive: Maxtor ATA 250GB
DVD Drive: Memorex 20x Internal Multi-Format Double-Layer DVD Recorder
*Being replaced in this situation* Power Supply: Thermaltake TR2-430W Power Supply
*Being replaced in this situation* Graphics Card: EVGA Nvidia Geforce 7600GT
Etc: Antec 80mm case fan; ARCTIC COOLING Freezer 7 Pro 92mm CPU Cooler
Sound Card: None
I want to buy from J&R World primarily because it is fairly close to where I live.
I am currently considering Antec NEO-HE 550 Watt.
Is this enough to power my old computer build coupled with an 8800GTS? I know the new 512mb GTS uses a lot more power than the 8800GT. Thanks in advance. Happy Holidays Everyone!
