And if you find anything, could you include the hardware requirements for it?
you could have a look here www.scan.co.uk/ what country are you in? I have the nVidia 1 GB GTX 460 Graphics which cost about £149.00 pounds sterling, if you are in the usa it will cost about $200.00 dollars
Well, I basically just need something that would be entry-level. I just need something that has an hdmi port so i can connect my PC to my tv. I currently have an old nvidia geforce4 mx 440. It has a vga port but its only analog. HDMI is digital which would be better. Im gonna use it for general use, like for the internet and watching movies.
How cheap are we talking billfold wise? You can get a video card on http://www.newegg.com that has an HDMI port on it for $30 (us) + shipping... But if you have it in your budget, I would suggest going with something with a little more oomph than the low-end cards that would cost that cheap. If you can afford $48 (us), there's an ATI Radeon HD 4650 that would do nicely for that price... try checking newegg for yourself, they have pretty good deals, and lots of items with free shipping.
well, see, i have an old system. Im not sure if it can handle an HDMI card. but i hope maybe if i find something that isnt demanding on my motherboard or psu, it could maybe work.
OK, the video cards that I spoke of earlier require a minimum of 300 Watt power supply... if your motherboard has a PCIe slot, you will be fine.
its just got standard pci. its an oldie lol
ahhh lol sorry, I should have taken that into consideration... ill do some more research, but im gonna guess that there are very few HDMI capable PCI cards, if any...
There are 2 on newegg... one is an ATI Radeon HD 4350. It's a 512MB DDR2 card, PCI slot compatible. The other is an ATI Radeon HD 5450, it is 512MB of DDR3... now neither of them are on the cheap... the 4350 is $82.99 with $2.99 standard shipping, while the 5450 is $94.99 with $5.99 shipping. Here they are, lemme know if this link works: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produ...iption=&Ntk=&CFG=&SpeTabStoreType=&srchInDesc=
thanks. I appreciate the help. Looks like i will have to save a bit of cash lol
Hey no problem, just glad I could help.
i forgot to mention that i have an unoccupied agp slot.
if you only want to connect it to tv get the GT240
If your budget is too low then buy Radeon HD 5450
AGP and PCI are pretty much dead, especially AGP. The PCI bus hasn't been optimal for graphics in over ten years, so finding one with HDMI is likely not an option. There is at least a Radeon 4350 with HDMI out and running on an AGP slot. I haven't done a comprehensive search, but I highly doubt you'll find much of a selection for AGP cards with HDMI.
