I don't know anyone besides my dad that actually enjoyed Apples single button mice, but now they've finally gotten their act together and driven it home. With a single button design Apple actually manages to incorporate 4button+360*scroll wheel functionality into it's sleek package. It will set you back about $50 but it works with both Mac OS X and Win2000/XP, though you can only utilize it's full potential in OS X Tiger 10.4 From Apple: "Meet the mouse that reinvented the wheel. The scroll wheel, that is. At $49, Mighty Mouse features the revolutionary Scroll Ball that lets you move anywhere inside a document, without lifting a finger. And with touch-sensitive technology concealed under the seamless top shell, you get the programability of a four-button mouse in a single-button design. Click, roll, squeeze and scroll. This mouse just aced the maze." "Thanks to a smooth top shell with touch-sensitive technology beneath, Mighty Mouse allows you to right click without a right button. Capacitive sensors under Mighty Mouse’s seamless top shell detect where your fingers are and predict your clicking intentions, so you don’t need two buttons — just two fingers. Click on the left side to use Mighty Mouse in its simplest, single-button form. Click on the right to access contextual menus within applications and edit, copy, label or download from your mouse." I don't know about the rest of you but I want one http://www.apple.com/mightymouse/specs.html
Thats a really cool looking mouse and that scroll whell/ball is tiny, its a shame it isnt cordless otherwise i'd buy it! (ive gotten addicted to cordless)
I think I'd prefer thumbscrews. It might be fun for the first five minutes but I reckon I'd end up hating it even more than I hate my laptops touchpad.
I suppose I can forsee the lack of tactile left/right buttons messing things up, in gaming at least. Still bounds and leaps over their previous mice
Mouse looks like a piece of garbage. They need to stop with the whole white, sleek, and stupid looks with things. The devices apple makes are pretty, but they aren't practical.
