I got a friend living accross the street. He's got DSL connected to a wireless router.
I am trying to use the same connection via wireless. The signal I receive is very faint, so bad that it seems to be weather related. In the day there is no signal, sometimes in the night there is a very weak signal. :)confused: maybe it's just me). The router is a Netgear...(sor, don't have the model num with me). I checked the configuration of the router, and they don't mention anything about WDS, as well as netgear's website (the firmware updates, user manual etc.). So, I assume that the router doesn't support WDS, and there for I can't use another AP(as a repeater / WDS) to extend the range.

I tried to come across a solution, but an antenna is not an option, since I have a laptop and my friend does not want an extra antenna :( .

I got an idea, but not sure if it will work. Why don't I get 2 AP/Briges, connect them via their ethernet ports, try to place them so that both of us can get a good signal, configure AP1 to be a bridge from the wireless network(of my friend) to ethernet, and AP2 to a bridge from ethernet to a new wireless network. I hope this works. Before I do anything, do u guys think it could work?
Can anybody think of something else, or give me good advice?

O, I heard somewhere :x: that one can get a router that can connect to another router (almost as the two routers I explained, combined)
