A few stores jumped the gun and offered it over the weekend, but pulled them off the shelves later on. Either way, I'm gonna head over to EB in a couple of hours and pick it up.
 
It's a very good FPS so far. I'd love to play it more, but I gotta sleep before work.
 
My friend gets games from his dad that works at an intel plant. he also gets to beta test products
 
I'm thinking about splurging and getting it .... right now! I got a $40 break on my rent, so that's my rationalization. :p
 
No, not out yet, and I won't buy it 'till that comes out. But Id said the Linux client would come out "very soon after the PC game hits store shelves". Hopefully very soon means by human, not corperate, standards. :)

I haven't done enough reviewing of it to want it NOW, but I'll probably try someone else's copy out first to see if i want it.
 
Well, if you liked the original Doom games, you'll more than likely like Doom3 quite a bit. It's one of those "scare you into having a loose bowel movement" kind of games. :)
 
You might wanna make sure you have an extra pair of underware handy when playing Doom 3.

AVP2 has got to be the scariest game EVER. Especially the first mission (where there are actually NO monsters at all :p )

My opinion might change in a couple minutes though :good:
 
Agreed. That's the kind of game you want to play alone, at night, with the lights off, and heaphones on. Quite a game experience! I think that game really recieved much less fanfare than it deserved. I only hope D3 retains that kind of sweaty-palm atmosphere, as I haven't played it since the Alpha leak some time back... :(
 
I have to say that graphically, Doom 3 is unlike anything I've ever seen.

I play it @ 10x7 - medium settings. It rarely goes below 30fps and it looks extremely good.

The gameplay is doomlike : seek and destroy.

I haven't played it at night yet but there's no doubt in my mind that when I do, I'll piss my pants ;)

As for AVP2, there are two cons:

1) It's way too short
2) The Alien campaign sucks

This is definitely a great purchase. You also have to consider that I got KOTOR free with it :good:
