I have an Asus K8N-E Deluxe motherboard, along with three sticks of RAM: 1 - Kingston ValuRam (KVR) 400/512R AVM016C0577 2 - Samsung 1GB PC3200 400FSB DDR G0724 3 - Samsung 1GB PC3200 400FSB DDR G0724 At first I had only the Kingston stick installed, which worked fine. I would like for all three of them to work, or at least the two 1GB sticks. I disconnected all the ram, cleared the CMOS, and installed stick #2. This resulted in the only being displayed on screen: Code: IRBBH535-0: R9600 256M/128B CRT\TV\DVI-I 203M/324E Other than a blinking cursor beneath it, nothing else displays before or after this, including any logos or prompts. I uninstalled stick #2 and replaced it with stick #3. This does not result in anything being displayed on screen. At this point I removed stick #2 and replaced it with stick #1 to make sure nothing else was causing the problem, and it booted up fine. I then tried to boot up with sticks #2 and #3 in slot 2, but this also resulted in a blank screen. Is there a way to change the memory speed in the BIOS to be compatible with this type of ram? Or are the sticks just defective?
I tested this ram out on another mobo (Asus A7N8X), which also doesn't recognize it, so it looks like the ram itself is defective. Now I'd like to buy a replacement that actually *works*. The qualified vendors list (QVL), which is available at http://dlsvr03.asus.com/pub/ASUS/mb/sock754/K8N-E_DX/e1883_k8n-e_deluxe.pdf, doesn't list any 1GB sticks. How can I find out which are compatible with this board? Has anyone had any luck using two 1024MB sticks on an Asus K8N-E Deluxe? I've looked around using Google, but wasn't able to find anything. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated
