I plan on building a computer soon and I was going to use the Asus A8N-E MoBo, but I have seen a bunch of different mixed reviews from dont ever buy it to it being top notch. If anyone has suggestions of another MoBo I am open.

Also can you use ati radeon cards on MoBo's with the nForce chipsets.

Ummm, I'm not sure about the Asus thing but yes, you can use ATI cards on nForce chipsets. As far as I have heard Asus is a wonderful board company but I'm not sure specifically about the A8N. I have an AN8 from Abit and if they similar then you'd be getting a good board.

i'd recommend to get the Asus if you want, and the abit AN8 is also a good choice, they're solid boards, and the companies have a great reputation, i have the SLI version of that board AKA A8N-SLI Deluxe, and its known for being the breaker of the top 3Dmark05 score, and in some cases in gaming in slower (yet still holds itself in top scores), but it performs very well on encoding and multitasking

Really the differrence between boards will be un-noticable for the average user and even for most above average users.

so far my board hasen't given up on me, been a couple months, but yeah it is annoying when everythings turned off and you actually try to hear it, otherwise I haven't even noticed it, and I record guitar and vocals on this, dont hear it at all in the background, the Epox nForce4Ultra board for socket 939 is one of the only ones i support from the line, other than that id still recommend sticking to better brand names, known for less problems and good overall customer satisfaction

Hmmm, I have 2 tornadoes but I have a fan controller so when I'm doing something sound sensitive I just turn them down/off. But uhhh, I haven't really heard anything about the epox boards. Maybe I should ask the guy that owns the computer shop I'm in right now...

I would not recommend Epox motherboards. The ones I've delt with have generally been unpleasant to work with or failed within a few weeks. Sure, Epox may have some nice OC'ing boards, but if you want that you have Abit and DFI to look at, which are much better choices.

Definately what Big B said. Go get yourself a DFI Lanparty nForce 4 Ultra or something, they are rock solid!
