asus p4g8x motherboard and radeons

Have got asus p4g8x deluxe motherboard and nvidia graph card want to upgrade to radeon 9800 pro but have been told radeon cards and p4g8x together will cause crashes does anybody now anything about this

It seems related to running the AGP mode in AGP 8x. Dropping it to 4x will not cripple the card. You might lose a few points in benchmarking, but AGP 8x is more hype right now than anything.

Pay attention to Wolf1man's post.

Also, you'll want to completely remove the nvidia drivers before installing the Radeon.

Dude, I didnt know that other people were having the same problem as me. I have a p4g8x deluxe, and I cant get my computer to stop hanging. After about 5 min of playing any game, the computer will hang, and freeze up. I have tried everything to fix the problem, (including droping to 4x and lowering the mem to 64 mb) and nothing works. Get a new mother board or get a different graphics card. Thanks for posting this question, now I know whats wrong!!
