asus question

    I going to buy a intel 2.8 chip socket 775. what asus board would be good for this cpu. If you can let me know about a few models. Please help if you can.

    Thanks for the advice. I was thinking on getting the P5GPL or P5GD2-X. I heard the chipset on the P5GD2-X gets hotter than normal. Is that true.

    I dont know if that is true or not but it does look like it has a crappy heatsink on the chipset!
    If your worried about overheating just by a better heatsink for it!

    I was thinking about change the heatsink on it. would you know of a good brand that would work.

    Zalman and Thermaltake make excellent heatsinks!
    Consider a Thermaltake 'Orb' model.
    if you dont have your heart set on ASUS you might consider these >
    ABIT AA8XE
    Gigabyte GA-8GPNXP
    ALBATRON PX915-G Pro

    those motherboards that you show which one can update bios there windows. Just like asus can. Gigabyte would be good i like them also.

    I think ABIT can update through windows but i dont know about the others!
    Its not really necessary is it?

    If money doesnt matter you could get the AA8XE Fatal1y board which is basically designed purely for gaming and is extremely customised and rock solid!
