For that extra mony i'd go with an ARCTIC COOLING FREEZER!!! I have one and they are so quiet and drop temps a lot, very good air solution for overclocking,

Yes, Arctic Cooling make some very good VGA coolers, for PCI-e it's probably one of the best (if not the best) coolers for the 6600GT, (they don't make an AGP 6600 series one...but that doesn't concern you as you're going with PCI-Express) Yes that's the CPU cooler as well, I was just about to post the link when i saw you had replied
It's what we're here for, anything else don't hesitate to ask. Also check out this, it's my review of the Freezer 4 (socket 478) same series as the CPU cooler you're thinking of getting but just for a different socket.
This is pretty much the best cooler money can buy, within reason: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16835106061 and I say this even though I'm an avid ArcticCooling fan. It gives you better airflow and heat dispersal with virtually no noise under load. Good stuff.
If size is an issue, the Thermaltake SilentBoost K8 is nice and reasonably priced (it's around $20 USD). Other options are the Thermalright XP-90 and XP-90C (the C is the copper version vs. the XP-90's aluminum construction), the Thermalright XP-120, along with Swiftech and Alpha coolers. The last three companies tend to produce coolers that may require you to change the mounting plate and/or have you assemble the cooler (more spring screws). It all depends on how much you want to go for and how big of a cooler you want to deal with.
Just note that you'll have to supply your own fan for the XP series, it's just a heatsink. So you can get anything from a silent Vantec Stealth to a Tornado that will probably rip the ram right out of your mobo it pushes so much air. Just make sure they are size compatable. I think 120mm fans fit but I'm not 100% sure.
Yeah If i could have my computer in another room where the sound couldnt affect me then i'd have tornados...they push something like 120CFM...thats insane (different sizes push different amounts of air) They do run at like 55dBA though... "Prepare for take-off..."
cool, well hope all goes well, just take your time and build it with bare essentials first outside of the case to make sure everythings okay and you should be fine... :good:
Yeah it's really pretty straight foward even for a first build so long as the mobo manual is explicit enough. Have fun and let us know how it goes.
