Athlon xp 2000+ Temperature

Bit worried about my CPU temperature!

38oC IDLE

45 - 47oC Full load

system temp 24oC - 29oC depending on load on CPU
 
If you have the stock heatsink and like one case fan, I'd say your temps are pretty good.

I used to get well over 50C of on die temp with my 2000+.
 
wats rong wid your temps there fine. when they get to bout 80+ RUN and then me know how the explosion went ;)
 
38C is very hot at idle for processors under 1GHz, but it isn't exceptionally hot for a Thoroughbred-core Athlon XP (1.67GHz). This is especially true if you are still using the stock heatsync/fan. If this worries you, you could always invest a few bucks in a good Thermaltake or CoolerMaster HSF. That'd probably drop you up to 10C, depending on the model you spring for and your chassis' ambient temperature.
 
The 2000+ is a Palomino which runs hotter than the Thoroughbred.

I'd say 45C full load with the stock hsf is godlike.
 
Also, not all motherboards read the same or from the on-die temp sensor. My Gigabyte GA-7VAXP Ultra reads my XP2000+ temp idle as 52*C with a Thermalright SK-7 and a 3000RPM fan. Temps are helpful, but do realize that the motherboard comes into play. Stability is the key thing. I'm sure if I wanted to lap the heatsink and reapply some thermal compound, it'd go down some, but it being stable is the most important thing.
