Do you dudes/dudettes (to quote Addis) think that ATI will work out their own version of SLI? Maybe even with this next generation that should be coming around petty soon right? Though this is really stupid I often look at Newegg for hot video cards just to see what's better than mine but not unreasonably $$, or in other words what I should have bought instead of my 6800. I like the X800XL a lot but there's no future with SLI there and the 6800GT's a bad deal when you compair the two. So when should we expect a product refresh for the two companies, as I will be working this summer...Thanks all.

Yep I read that ATi will be releasing their SLI, but they'll probably have to work on drivers before they can officially release it. However, ATi won't be using the name SLi (Scalable Link Interface). They are using the words Multi-Rendering for now but they'll have a new name by official launch. ATI had to introduce their own version of SLi, since nVidia was boasting about SLi.

Thanks Addis, I sort of figured that would be the case, if they didn't come up with something than nVidia would look a lot more attractive for the high-end gamer, having SLI on their side and all. ATI will probably come up with something this summer I imagine. Just like Alienware showed off their ALX rig last summer I think it was.
