ATI, Sound Blaster Sound Issues

I'm running ATI All In Wonder 128 pro for my video and I have a satelite hooked up to it to watch tv on the pc. My problem is that the sound has alot of hiss or noise in it while I'm watching or capturing a program. I also have the problem of the line in on my Sound Blaster Live sound card always muteing after restarting the computer. The muteing issue I can deal with unless someone can tell me how to keep it from doing it but the hissing noise I really would like to fix so I can capture movies for DVD.

Damaged wire could be a possibly? have you tried a different wire? also make sure that all the sound related wires are inserted correctly.

maybe sound daft but mute the mocrophone has this can sometimes interfere. hope this helps Dave
