I've heard the DFI LanParty UT DR or whatever it is these days requires a ATX 24 pin connection. First of all is that true? And assuming it is can I just get an adaptor? I looked on Newegg but couldn't find anything. I'd inquire about compatable psu's but it's the wrong thread.

Wow, thanks guys:), I'll probably just consolidate the order to Newegg if I can help it so I don't have stuff comething from all over the place. Good work.

In the end it will be cheaper and faster to order form Newegg.

Yes. Actually the DFI's are pretty rigid on the ATX 24-pin connector, but I don't think they're the only ones. I know those boards tend not to play nicely with power supplies that are not a true (i.e. no 20->24-pin adapters) 24-pin connector equipped. While yes, a few people have gotten by with a 20-pin connector, it's not recommended.

In the past, yes, you've been able to slide with the PSU's, but these days, you really don't have the flexibility like you used to. You need a quality unit. Not doing so is about the same as saying you're going to go put regular in your Ferrari that requires premium gas. You run a very high risk of running into trouble. It is worth the money to have the proper parts. It's also in your best intrests to get a proper PSU...unless you like having to go through a ton of troubleshooting.

Well I've actully just read some really poor things about DFI's LanParty SLI's recently so I might be moving to another mobo, Epox perhaps? I hear they're overclockers.
